Why I Zumba I’m an administrator, professor, group fitness leader, and most importantly a mom and wife. Married to a supportive hubby and a proud mama of two children – Maddie and Hayden who light up my world. Recently we added an incredibly sweet fur baby to our family (miniature Goldendoodle) named Griffin. Since graduating university, I’ve worked at the University of the Fraser Valley in various roles and departments. Currently I work full-time as manager of Continuing Education, and as a sessional professor. With a joy of working out and a passion to help and motivate others, I’ve also taught group fitness for over 13 years and presently teach Zumba and strength training. Why Zumba? I’ve always been a fitness enthusiast and began weight training and taking fitness classes in my teens. One of my step instructors encouraged me to get certified to teach and the rest is history. I began teaching step as I love upbeat music, high energy, and choreography/patterns. Following I went on to teach many other fitness classes including aqua, bootcamp, and strength training. Several years ago, I circled back to my roots and discovered a love for Zumba as it embodies everything I adore – dancing, strength training, uplifting music, high energy workout, fun, and a good sweat!
